Our story

We're building the thing we wished we'd had.

Not because the idea looked good on paper. Because we watched too many people face the biggest moments of their lives carrying the weight on their own.

Launching September 3rd, 2026

On paper, the support was always there.

University advisors. Official websites. Orientation programmes. Visa guidance. Forums. Student services.

Technically, the answer to almost every question was somewhere.

But most of it was procedural. Accurate, and somehow still empty.

Nobody told you what a choice actually feels like once you live it.

Which mistakes are worth avoiding.

What quietly kills your motivation.

How lonely a transition gets when you are surrounded by people but understood by none of them.

How much time you lose simply not knowing what to ask.

The founders of U&I have lived this, repeatedly.

Across different countries. Different systems. Different stages of life.

Moving abroad. Navigating institutions built to support thousands at once, not to guide one person through their hardest decisions.

So students piece together major decisions from fragmented Reddit threads, generic answers, and advice that never quite fits their situation.

International students carry all of that.

Plus financial pressure. Immigration uncertainty. Family expectations. Isolation.

And systems nobody explains in a human way.

Most people only get clarity after making the painful mistakes themselves.

That became the thing we couldn't stop thinking about.

"Most people aren't failing because they're incapable. They're navigating environments with no meaningful map."

Day in the life

A Tuesday in October

  • 8:42am
Three deadline emails. Two from systems that don't sync.
  • 11:15am
Lecture moved rooms. Found out from a group chat.
  • 3:00pm
Library closed for an event nobody mentioned.
Why now

University in 2026 is unrecognisable.

The tools multiplied. The pressure didn't ease.

The gap between official support and lived reality kept widening.

Generic AI gives generic answers. Institutional systems are built for scale, not nuance.

The information that actually matters, what it feels like, what to avoid, what nobody warns you about, still lives only in the heads of people who already went through it.

We're building the layer that's been missing. Not a chatbot. Not a student portal. An intelligent ecosystem where lived experience, local knowledge, and adaptive technology give students what institutions were never built to provide.

We started in Liverpool. We're thinking much further ahead.

The team

Four founders. One mission. Built by people still inside the system they're trying to fix.
